How to read an NRR figure

NRR is measured in a laboratory on a perfect seal. Real-world reduction is roughly half the printed figure, which is why a 26 dB pair takes an 85 dB shop down to roughly 72 dB rather than to silence. That is the goal: take the edge off, not remove hearing.

Clamp force is the spec nobody lists
